Data Sources
FinanceTools.io combines live market data with deterministic calculations. This page lists the providers we use, how often data updates and what happens when a provider fails.
Live quotes & funding
Spot prices, funding rates and related exchange data come from the public APIs of Binance, Bybit, OKX, Bitget, Gate, KuCoin, MEXC, Kraken, Poloniex, Bitfinex and Coinbase. WebSocket streams are used where available for lower latency; requests are proxied server-side for reliability and to keep keys out of the browser. Funding rates are normalized to an 8-hour period so different exchanges can be compared on the same basis.
Market snapshot (global statistics)
The global market statistics shown on the market pages (global market cap, top assets and market dominance) are provided by CoinGecko.
DEX pools
Decentralized exchange pool data is provided by DexScreener, grouped by network.
Network / wallet data
Deposit and withdrawal status for KuCoin, Bitget, Gate and Poloniex uses public status information from those exchanges. Other exchanges require an authenticated API, so their status is shown as unknown until it has been manually validated.
Frequency & staleness
Quotes are refreshed near real time. Every page that uses live data shows a timestamp so you know how recent the values are. When a provider fails, the page marks the data as "delayed" or "unavailable" and keeps the last known good value where available, instead of inventing a number.
Limitations
All market data comes from third-party public APIs and may be delayed. FinanceTools.io does not fabricate data. Order-book depth beyond the top of the book is not displayed, so modeled liquidity and slippage are estimates, not exchange quotes.
Data handling
See the Privacy Policy for how we handle the data the site collects.
